Our client purchased this home with intent to update the original classic ranch. It had great curb appeal and lots of ranch charm. But after a thorough review, it became clear that the home’s floor plan was too restrictive. With three growing children, a new home would serve their family better.
So our client brought together Matthew Thomas (architect), Jennifer Olson (interior design), and our Vista General team (construction) to bring this new home to life.
Together, we established clear priorities from the beginning. First, we would not overbuild the home with excessive square footage. This, in turn, would afford plenty of free yard space surrounding the home. Second, the choice of materials and finishes— reclaimed wood beams and salvaged materials—would make the home feel established and timeless for decades to come.
